OSU Librarian Faces Sexual Harrassment Charges For Recommending Conservative Books April 21, 2006
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Scott Savage, who works as a librarian at the Ohio State University Mansfield campus, is being investigated for “sexual harassment” after he recommended four conservative books for a freshman reading program.
Two openly gay OSU professors made the ridiculous accusation after Savage made his recommendation for freshman reading in his role as a member of OSU Mansfield’s First Year Reading Experience Committee. The four books he recommended were The Marketing of Evil by David Kupelian, The Professors by David Horowitz, Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis by Bat Ye’or, and
It Takes a Family by Senator Rick Santorum. The librarian made the recommendations after other committee members had suggested a series of books with a left-wing agenda, by authors such as Jimmy Carter and Maria Shriver.
David Kupelian's controversial bestseller The Marketing of Evil denounces homosexuality by explaining the marketing campaign that helped sell the idea to our culture. The two professors who filed the complaint of discrimination and harassment against Savage, said that the book suggestions made them feel “unsafe”, even though it was Savage's role as a committee member to offer such suggestions.
OSU Mansfield is still continuing with the frivolous investigation despite the overwhelming call by conservative media for the faculty to dismiss the charges.
