Default Democratic Candidate Shows His 8th Grade Class Bush Bashing Video

Watch the Bush Bashing Video Slide-Show Here (*contains obscene language):
Filmstripinternational.com

[Alabama] West Limestone High School eighth grade science teacher Steve White, a Democratic candidate for the District 4 seat on the House of Representatives, decided that it was appropriate to show his students a Bush bashing video slide-show that is filled with the word a-hole (spelled out onscreen in the video).

The slides in the video show President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and others, including conservative author Ann Coulter. Words appear at the bottom of each slide bashing whoever is onscreen. One slide shows George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, calling them both a-holes. Another slide showing Condoleezza Rice implies that she was out buying shoes when the levees broke. Playing in the background through the entire video is a song titled “A-hole.”

The word a-hole is sung nine times and shown onscreen 11 times; the s-word is used once and someone is shown "giving the middle finger" once. This type of name calling by a student would result in some type of punishment or reprimand, yet a grown man who is a teacher (and running for Congress) thinks that it's fully appropriate. Apparently, Steven White also thinks that it is appropriate to politically indoctrinate a classroom full of 8th grade students in a science class. What he's doing even bringing up politics in a science class should be a concern.

Parent Christy Jackson, whose 13-year-old son is a student in Steven White's class, said that his class discussions often turn political. “I know of one instance where my son was told he couldn’t leave the room without saying, ‘John Kerry rocks,’” she said. “I think my son is entitled to his opinion, just like (his teacher) is. I don’t think any issue should be forced on my son.”

The Limestone County School Board has placed the teacher on leave while they are conducting an investigation.

That punk needs to lose his job. If he had shown that to my kid, he would have had to deal with mama and he would not like that.

Default Why the push for Religion in public schools but Descent isn't allowed

I've always wondered about the outcry against any teacher's opinion in the classroom. It seems it only happens when these opinions are expressions of descent. While I don't advocate any swearing in the classroom, I don't understand all the rules of this outrage.
Why must we teach inteligent design as science ?
It seems to me the very second you place religion in public schools is the same second members of minority religions will become oppressed.
I would ask any evangelical or baptist to go live in Provo Utah, and send their children through the public schools there.
They will get a new found appreaciation for keeping religion out of schools.
Do the same with a mormon at... (insert the evangelical, or baptist center here, I don't know where that is,) a school where everyone is a different religion, let them worry about what is being taught.
I believe this it the intent and purpose of keeping public education on subjects other than religion.

I also wonder how many off-color jokes might have been stated about our former president regarding interns and cigars. Somehow I get the impression that was all ok.
